The all new iPad

So I finally got my hands on my new iPad! I love this thing! After having the previous 2 generations I can say I am happy to have this one. The retina display is excellent and super sharp. The AT&T 4G LTE service with it is sick!

Sad that it puts my home Internet to shame…the software is gradually getting better which is making my days easier and easier. For quite some time now I have used my iPad exclusively for school notes and group collaborations. Easy, light weight, and works in sync with everything else. I can’t wait for them to finish rolling out iCloud through iOS updates and the next generation Mac operating system mountain lion. For most things it’s already a seamless handling of all my media but to build n that the rest if my files and data is going to be epic!

A sight for sore eyes

So guess what…I got my second eye surgery done! This time my right eye went under the knife to come out a success again! It’s going to be slow going letting my vision settle and mesh together but I can already tell a difference. It’s so much better now that they match! Just in time for summer it’s going to be awesome!

Blast from the past :)

I happen to come across some images of me as a young one. I thought I would share a few with you and try to add more when I get a chance. These were taken in Germany where I was born. You can see my dad in a couple of the shots…super awesome i know. To top it off I even have one with my Karate Kid outfit! Started out as a karate uniform and quickly turned into my halloween outfit as well…haha. I know super awesome. Look at them red boots!! Ill leave it at that!

Halloween fun

Got to spend Halloween this year with Chad, Zahra, and Noah! Had a good time relaxing and giving out candy to the neighborhood kids. Best part of all I got to spend time with Noah who was in the cutest sweet pea costume to match his parents Popeye and Olive oil. Anyway, the little guy is just too cute to keep of this damn blog so here you go! πŸ™‚

Football is here!

I have been waiting, wanting, needing, football here in San Antonio. I am a huge fan. When I heard that my university was going to start a team I knew I had to be all over it. Rushed out and got my season tickets, t-shirts, and yes even a foam finger…

Today was the inagural kick-off game for the UTSA Roadrunners. Playing to a record breaking crowd of over 46,000 people most by any NCAA startup. We went out there gave it our all and crushed the opponent!

A great time was had by all and a great start to something new and special!

What do you see?

One thing I have always wanted in my life was laser eye surgery. All my life i have worn glasses and just had a dream that one day I’d be able to see without them. Well, it isn’t always that simple. Some years ago and most recently a couple of months ago I was evaluated for laser eye surgery and found to be ineligible for it. Mainly due to being too farsighted the procedure can only correct so much before causing other issues.

Anyway, as luck would have it there was an alternative. Not exactly a routine thing but I was referred to a great opthalmaologist about what’s called Clear Lens Extraction. Basically it’s contacts that are inside your eye. The natural lens that sits behind the cornea is removed and replaced with a augmented artificial lens. At first, I was hesitant about it. But in the end decided to go ahead and do it! Kind of funny being a technical guy its just funny to think that I have new lenses in my eyes…like an upgrade! sweet! πŸ™‚

So, I am happy to say I am half way there! I had one eye operated on (they do one at a time) and by in large parts a success! I’ll have to wait some time for this one to heal and probably wear a contact Β in the other eye till it’s time. So far I am excited no more glasses!!

So many possibilities and little benefits I can now enjoy…sun glasses anyone? Can’t wait for the next one to be done!

Snow in ole San Antone!!

In the usual february freeze that blows through San Antonio, this year we got a little treat. We were brought snow! It doesn’t happen this far south. Only rarely has our town seen even this light dusting of snow fall. It had been so long since I ‘played’ in the snow. I was so excited I was outside in the freezing cold in the middle of the night enjoying it! Check out some of the pictures…

Never stop, never quit, get it done.

Well, today makes it official…I finished up my work at St. Philips College and received an associates degrees in Economics and Business Administration, only to be accepted at the University of Texas at San Antonio to get my bachelors! I’m once again a Roadrunner! When I graduated high school I got my college start there and however how short that time was and long story that was, Im extremely excited to be back. It feels surreal really, a bit of dejavu mixed in with the unknown. I’m not far off from my goal, and going to make this the best thing ever.

Also, next year my school is going to start to participate in one of my favorite past-times, FOOTBALL! The road runners kick off in 2011! I can’t wait to be there (in my season ticket seats) cheering them on for the kick-off to there great program which is headed by a former national championship coach! So excited!

Keeping it Weird…

I got to go see one of the best concerts of all time…a true concert. Weird Al was back in San Antonio and rocked the majestic once again! This time we were able to score a bunch of tickets so we got a bunch of us to go and had a BLAST. If you haven’t seen his concert i highly recommend seeing him when you can. Not only does he have good music, he provides real entertainment to include costume changes every song and funny interlude videos. Real fun for the whole family. I wish I could see him again…already…whether its smells like nirvana, amish paradise, fat, or all about the pentiums he knows how to rock it. Even gets all up in the faces of the ladies in the audience…so funny. Check these out:

Gimme! Gimme! My iPhone 4

I have been waiting a long time (see my iPhone 3G post) for the next best iPhone. Well, its finally here and I have it in my hands!! It’s AMAZING. I love my new phone! I decided to wait a generation and I’m happy I did. I’ll keep my review for another post, but can you imagine what that’s going to look like? πŸ™‚

Chad, Daniel, and I woke up extremely early and got to the mall many hours before the launch and found ourselves back in line about 100 people! but it didn’t take long for more to file in. Not to worry though, when it was time, with our reservations we were in front of the line. Enjoying free tacos and water, they really hyped up the experience we were in and out in no time. I had it in my hands and ready to go forth and prosper.

Now I have to sell my iPad so I can get the new one…anyone interested? LOL
